νερό

νερό is the greek word for water and according to one of my greek lessons with Julietta, it is pronounced nero(roll the r). My favorite place to be is on or near the water. That is my favorite thing about being on an island; the water is never too far away.  Skyros is in the middle of the Aegean Sea and has a beautiful coastline all around.

When we are at the farm the beach is about a 15 minute walk away. One of the first days we were on the farm we took some ponies there..

We try to go whenever we can

When we are at the flat (on our day off) the beach is pretty much right outside the door, as I am writing this I can hear the waves crashing, I love it.

Meg is collecting beach glass and heart shaped rocks for me, how nice of her  :)

Since it is winter it seems like a little bit of a ghost town and we usually have the beach all to ourselves. We took a really long walk one day and saw a couple of fishermen who weren't using poles, just line, that's some talented fishermen.

There are old boats all along the beach and they make for great photography subjects

It's awesome to see God's beautiful creation no matter where we are in the world, being by the water reminds me how big God is and that He is in control and wants what is best for us. I am in constant need of those reminders and am thankful to be getting them here.
